ELKO, Nev. (AP) — The Elko County Sheriff's Office has identified the man died after pulling his car in front of an Amtrak train Sunday morning.

The Elko Daily Free Press reports  that 50-year-old Curtis Wayne Rich, of Wichita, Kansas, died Sunday after stopping on the tracks in front of a California Zephyr train. Undersheriff Clair Morris says Rich had been in Dallas looking for work before coming to northeastern Nevada.

Witnesses told police they saw him drive up to the road toward the tracks, enter the railroad crossing and stop. The train struck the car at a crossing point a couple miles north of Deeth. No one on board the train was injured.
