IDAHO FALLS (KTVB) -- An Idaho man is suing the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, saying deputies used excessive force against him in June.

The Post Register reports that Preston McDowell of Rigby filed a complaint Wednesday saying two deputies dragged him from his home without a warrant and used a Taser on him when he wouldn't let them enter.

The complaint says unreasonable force caused severe and permanent injuries to McDowell's leg.

McDowell was charged June 24 with resisting or obstruction officers and a misdemeanor vandalism charge.

One of the officers named in the complaint actually works for the Rigby Police Department, but the complaint lists both as working for Jefferson County.

Sheriff's office spokesman Sam Tower says the office can't comment on pending litigation.
