BLACKFOOT, Idaho (AP) — A southeast Idaho man who crashed a vehicle into a house and killed the 92-year-old resident has pleaded guilty to felony vehicular manslaughter.

The Idaho State Journal in a story on Wednesday reports that Dillon Grant Gibson of Blackfoot also agreed to pay restitution. Police say that Gibson on June 14 was driving under the influence when he crashed into the Blackfoot home of William Hong, a well-known restaurateur.

Police say the crash started a fire that gutted Hong's home and that Hong suffered extensive injuries. He was transported to a hospital but died a short time later. Police say Gibson fled the scene on foot but was quickly arrested. Gibson faces up to 15 years in prison at his sentencing scheduled for Jan. 10.
