IDAHO COUNTY (KTVB) – Authorities in Idaho County say the body of a second missing camper has been recovered from the Salmon River.

The body of Patrick Lusk was found Sunday afternoon in the French Creek area.

Lusk, 27, and Jason Gritten, 35, both of Coeur d'Alene were reported missing by family members on May 17, 2015. Gritten's body was recovered on May 27.

The sheriff's office says the pair made camp near French Creek, then drove upriver and canoed across to spend time in a small, but little-known hot springs in the area. Investigators determined they left the hot springs and headed back downstream in the canoe to the camp, but never arrived.

Searchers found the capsized canoe in the river, but no signs of Lusk and Gritten.

Idaho County Sheriff Doug Giddings said that area of the river is difficult to search because of the steep terrain. The river is also too swift and treacherous to allow divers to search underwater.

Lusk's body was taken to Blackmer's Funeral Home in Grangeville.

Giddings sends his condolences to the family and friends of Gritten and Lusk and reminds the recreating public to always wear a life jacket when on Idaho's rivers.
