So, I learned something new today that makes me love the state of Idaho even more. Apparently, the tip top of the Gem State is home to the largest hops farm not just in the country, but in the world.

National Drink Beer Day is Friday, September 28. Yea, that's right, the greatest holiday that isn't Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving, or National Italian Day (Republic Day), falls on a Friday, and we are blessed to have this year's celebration also fall on a pay day for a lot of us. BONUS!

By the way, since we're on the subject, did you know Idaho is home to the WORLD'S largest hops farm. Elk Mountain Farms, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, is property owned by Anheuser-Busch. The company began planting hops there in the eighties, and now it houses more than 1,700 acres of hops, according to brewpublic.com.

So, when you tip a cold, sudsy brew on Friday, remember to take pride in the fact that Idaho trumps all other places on the planet when it comes to the ol' Humulus lupulus.

I'll cheers to that!
