Nebraska Trucker Dies after I-84 Crash Near Wendell

WENDELL, Idaho (KLIX) A truck driver from Nebraska has died after his semi went off the interstate near Wendell late Wednesday night.

According to Idaho State Police, Ernst Winter, 50, of Lincoln, died at the North Canyon Medical Center in Gooding after being transported there when his truck went off Interstate 84. Police say Winter was traveling westbound when his Freightliner went off the shoulder, down an embankment, and stopped in a field. This crash was one of a number of accidents along the interstate from Mountain Home to Burley that ISP investigated.
