After a long night of premieres and sometimes an award or two, the Game Awards came through big time and offered a new look at The Legend of Zelda on Wii U.

You can pick apples off trees and eat them. Good night.

Okay, so there's a bit more to the new Legend of Zelda game than that, but I mean, come on. Let's be real. We're all just going to spend our time exploring the massive open-world looking for new trees and new fruit to eat. Eiji Aonuma and Shigeru Miaymoto took some time to walk viewers through some of the new exploration elements at play in the upcoming Wii U title, which included the legendary Epona. Horseback riding will be incredibly easy, as Epona will do all the heavy lifting (read: steering) while Link will be able to focus his attentions elsewhere--like combat.

The sailcloth will also make a comeback, giving Link a way to get down from perilous mountaintops without having to slowly scale his way back down. Players will be able to see sights from up on high, and set new beacons for exploration as well. Even though the demo was being run on a TV and not directly into the feed, you could still see how impressive the world and graphics were. The first truly proper HD Zelda could be a game changer for Nintendo and the Wii U.

Still due to arrive in 2015, we can only hope Nintendo actually does hit the release window (as massive as it is) for this new Zelda. It looks great.
