After some product certificates were found on Nintendo's site, it seems it may be adding some precious metals to its amiibo Figure collection.

Nintendo's amiibo Figures have been a pretty hot topic lately between pre-order mishaps and some crazy man who decided no one should be able to buy the Rosalina figure because he personally doens't like her. Now, All Games Beta is reporting that it seems there may be two new Mario figures in the works and they sure are shiny. There were two product certificate PDFs found on Nintendo's site -- one for a Gold Mario and one for a Silver Mario.

The amiibo Figures are used as a supplement to the Wii U and new Nintendo 3DS games -- depending on which figure you have, you have the opportunity to get power ups or special abilities in the game you wouldn't normally have. There are also sometimes figures that have different properties than the normal version that could give additional or different power ups or abilities in game. It will be interesting to see what these new figures will bring to the table.

These product certificates seem to be pretty concrete proof that we will be seeing a silver and gold Mario in the near future, but with Nintendo removing the PDFs from its site, it seems we may have ruined the surprise.
