Nintendo has taken to Twitter to announce that the NES Remix Pack, a physical release of NES Remix and NES Remix 2, will be coming to stores this winter.

The NES Remix Pack will bring both of the recently released compilations to shelves in a physical disc. Previously, the NES Remix series has brought compilations of mini-games based on classic NES titles to the Wii U through digital download, with the first game released last December and the sequel available in April of this year. NES Remix presented challenges based on titles like Balloon Fight, Donkey Kong, Excitebike, Mario Bros., Ice Climber, Super Mario Bros., Urban Champion and The Legend of Zelda. NES Remix 2 expanded the gameplay, introducing challenges based on Dr. Mario, Ice Climber, Kid Icarus, Metroid, Punch-Out!!, Super Mario Bros. 2 and 3 and Zelda II: Link‘s Adventure.

Purchasing both games thorough the Wii U’s virtual console grants players access to Championship Mode, which adds a new online leaderboard system. It is not yet known if the Remix Pack will also offer this functionality , but since it bundles the two games, we assume that Championship Mode will also be included. No release date has been announced, but Nintendo informs us that the NES Remix Pack will be available this holiday season.
