POST FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Both drivers involved in a road rage incident on Interstate 90 near Post Falls could face criminal charges.

The Idaho State Police is taking the unusual step of requesting aggravated assault charges against 27-year-old Jeremy Leppert and 34-year-old Benjimin Nelson in the Nov. 6 incident. The Spokesman-Review reports that Leppert was driving his car when he encountered Nelson's vehicle.

According to the ISP, one vehicle began tailgating the other. The ISP says the drivers became agitated and one vehicle rammed the other. The two vehicles then side swiped each other repeatedly as they drove down the busy freeway. The ISP is asking Kootenai County prosecutors to file charges.
