SEATTLE (AP) — King County prosecutors say a 63-year-old St. Maries, Idaho, man accused of molesting a seriously ill boy at a Seattle hospital met the boy and his family more than a year ago at a gym near their Eastern Washington home and became increasingly involved in the boy's life.

Seattlepi.com reports that in court papers, prosecutors say that the 11-year-old boy developed a life-threatening illness and he and his family came to Seattle Children's hospital for treatment earlier this year.

The documents say the Idaho man followed, joining the boy and his father in housing provided for families who must travel to get care for an ill child. John Hudspeth has been charged with first-degree child molestation and is jailed in Seattle on $100,000 bail.
