COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) — A northern Idaho man who pleaded guilty to six counts of petty theft involving a northern Idaho coin shop he operated has been sentenced to six months in jail.

Forty-nine-year-old Kevin Mitchell of Hayden Lake received the sentence late last week in 1st District Court. Judge Fred Gibler also sentenced Mitchell to four years of supervised probation and ordered him to repay victims. That includes about $80,000 to four victims and amounts yet to be determined for two others.

Mitchell's 32-year-old stepdaughter helped run the shop and pleaded guilty to petty theft. Sarah Mitchell received two years of probation and must repay about $100,000 to five victims. CoiNuts registered as a corporation in Idaho in 2007 and operated in a strip mall facing U.S. Highway 95 until July 2013.
