HOMEDALE, Idaho (AP) — One person was taken to a Boise-area hospital following an officer-involved shooting in Homedale.

KBOI-TV reports the shooting happened around 3 p.m. Saturday when a Homedale Police officer and a Owyhee County deputy were called to a home for a by a family member. Owhyee County Sheriff Perry Grant says someone answered the door with a firearm, shots were fired and that person was taken to a Boise area hospital.

Grant says there were children inside the home at the time of the shooting, but nobody else was hurt. Investigators say it is unclear who fired their weapons and how many shots were fired. The Canyon County sheriff's office is in charge of the investigation. Authorities say they will share more information on Monday.
