One Person Shot By Officer In Jerome County [Update]
Jerome, Idaho (KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV) - There has been an officer involved shooting in Jerome County.
It appears the shooting occurred in the intersection of 400 South and 100 East. All officials are saying is that one person was shot by an officer. The incident occurred around 11:30 am this Thursday Morning. The condition of the victim of the shooting is not known at this time.
Deputies from the Jerome County Sheriff’s Office and the Idaho State Police responded to the scene. The Critical Incident Task Force has been called to the scene to assist in the investigation.
UPDATE (Nov. 6, 4:05 3:46 PM) – The Critical Incident Task Force investigating the shooting has released the name of the victim. Authorities say he has been identified as Daniel Young, 26 of Gooding. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Further details surround the shooting has not been released.
UPDATE (Nov. 6, 1:18 pm) - Departments on the scene now include the Twin Falls County Sheriff, Jerome County Sheriff, Idaho State Police, Jerome Police, Magic Valley Paramedics and the Magic Valley Critical Incident Task Force. The scene has been secured by officials. The paramedics have not left the scene. No further official comment has been made by any agency.
