TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) Work is set to begin later this week on a repaving project on Highway 30 between Hansen and the Twin Falls County line.

The Idaho Transportation Department says the full-width paving project will make travel for motorist much better and extend the life of the roadway. Construction will start Friday, May 12, and last until about mid-June with follow up work later in the summer. A total of nine miles will be redone on the highway to prevent water from getting into cracks and deteriorating it.

The stretch of highway has seen extensive damage from recent winter weather. Drivers can expect delays up to 15 minutes during the day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day. Speed in the construction zone will be 45 mph. The project will cost $1.5 million.
