We have some pictures related to last Friday's press release about the toxic algal blooms at Mormon Reservoir.

Last Friday, public health officials issued a health advisory saying that blue-green algae had been found at Mormon Reservoir.

The Idaho DEQ noted that blue-green algae contain toxins that can be harmful to humans and that pets and children are particularly susceptible.

It's important to note that not all algae is harmful and that many bodies of water will present scum this time of year due to the slowing of water flow.  Just because you see scum or what you believe to be an algae bloom, doesn't necessarily mean it is harmful.
