Nintendo has shipped over 7.7 million copies of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, but how close is this to toppling their original games?

According to Siliconera, Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire have shipped over 7.7 million units worldwide. During the first two weeks since the game's release, Pokemon ORAS is doing remarkably well. In just its first week, Pokemon ORAS sold over 3 million copies worldwide. We have a feeling that Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals, along with the timing of the holiday season, will help Pokemon do what never happens in a battle: make a killing. The Pokemon Company claims that Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire outsold Pokemon X and Y by about 35 percent at launch.

At the same time, Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are nowhere close to toppling the record set by the original Ruby and Sapphire games. The GBA versions of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire sold 16.22 million copies worldwide.
