CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) — Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Caldwell that sent one person to the hospital.

KTVB-TV reports that Caldwell Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance Sunday. When officers arrived on scene, a male suspect in tried to hit an officer with his vehicle. According to a statement from Caldwell Police, the officer shot at the suspect, but the man kept driving, striking the second arriving officer's patrol car. Both officers are unhurt.

Police say the suspect was hit by gunfire and given first aid at the scene. He was taken to a hospital by ambulance. The Canyon County Critical Incident Task Force has been activated, and the Nampa Police Department will head up the investigation into the shooting.
