PS4 Launches in China Next Month, Limited Edition Revealed

Now that China removed its ban on video game consoles throughout the country last January, Sony is finally moving in with the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita.

Polygon reports that Sony is acting on China removing its ban on video game consoles, and it plans to start with the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. When it debuts next month, the PlayStation 4 will retail for 2,899¥ (approximately $468.63) and the PlayStation Vita will sell for 1,299¥ or ($209.99). If you're worried about what titles you can buy in China for the PlayStation launch, you can rest assured that over 70 third-party developers and publishers will have games available for the system.

Kotaku reports that there is yet another special edition PlayStation 4 coming out this year and this will be the one that will be selling in China with a dragon symbol emblazoned on it. Although the dragon is just a different faceplate, it still might be a good investment based on how other limited edition PlayStation 4's are selling on aftermarket websites. When the dragon design sells out, consumers will be left with the good old black or white option that everyone has come to know and love. The PlayStation Vita seems like it will only be offered in black or white but there will be an option to get a the same dragon design on a limited edition protective pouch for the handheld.

Gamers in China can look forward to the launch of the two consoles on Jan. 11, 2015.
