TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – Alex Sutter, a Lincoln County resident and businessman, said he is stepping into the primary race for Idaho House District 26 Seat B.

His decision to run was followed by Shoshone resident Don Hudson exiting the race due to health reasons.

“Don and I were talking and he said that because of health issues he was planning to exit the race,” Sutter said. “He wanted someone to take his place. He wanted me to do it. It’s still a primary, so anyone can run. But we talked about me stepping in.”

Sutter, who said Friday that he is still formulating his campaign, said he ran for the same seat a few years ago.

“It’s been just a couple of days since I decided to run,” he said. “Up to that point, I haven’t given it too much thought. … But several things will be business issues and, being a landowner and farmer, there’ll be some ag issues. I also believe heavily in education and providing education opportunities.”

Sutter said he appreciates Hudson’s efforts.

“I was the one who asked him to run,” Sutter said. “He worked hard last time, putting his whole heart and soul into it. He was willing to give it his all this time too, but it just became too much of a struggle with his health.”
