TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – Three areas will see changes in the way they accommodate traffic flow as the city of Twin Falls works to improve roads with chip sealing and re-striping.

According to information from the city, Washington Street North from Pole Line Road to the area of Los Lagos Road will be re-striped to include a center turn lane to better accommodate drivers turning west onto residential roads.

The merging lane from Pole Line Road onto Washington Street North will be moved farther north to reduce lane changing near the Walgreen’s entrance.

The press release continues:

Elsewhere, on North College Road from Blue Lakes Boulevard to the new intersection of North College Road and Cheney Drive will be re-striped to align the Fillmore Street and North College Road intersection with newer striping that was placed when the traffic signal was installed.

A center turn lane from the Fillmore Street and North College Road traffic signal will also be added up to the new intersection of North College Road and Cheney Drive.

All of these changes to better accommodate traffic flow are based on input from the public. For example, eastbound drivers in the area of North College Road and Fillmore Street voice concerns about nearly being rear ended while trying to access the Farmers Market in the area of 611 North College Road.

In addition to the two re-striping projects, a third location at Cheney Drive and Washington Street will be re-striped to align the new intersection with Washington Street traffic flows.

Re-striping is expected to be complete by July 29.
