Sawtooth National Forest to Lift Fire Restrictions

The following information is from the Sawtooth National Forest: Frequent rain showers, cooler weather and lower wildfire dangers have prompted federal wildfire officials to lift Stage 1 Fire Restrictions within the Sawtooth National Recreation Area effective Friday, August 15 at 11:59 P.M.

Lifting the restrictions means the public is free to build a campfire, use a charcoal barbeque or sheepherder stove outside of designated campgrounds and recreation sites.  Fire managers remind people to use water to put out all campfires and to soak all charcoal and hot ash from barbeques and stoves.
