BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Rescue crews are searching for a 22-year-old Boise man who fell into the Snake River near Swan Falls Dam while fishing.

Ada County Sheriff's said they used sonar Monday morning but were not able to find him. Investigators say the man lost his footing while fishing in the river. KBOI-TV reports that authorities were called Sunday night to the area, which is about 45 minutes south of Boise.

Friends said the man resurfaced several yards downstream after falling into the water but then went back under.
