Shoshone, Idaho (KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - Authorities in Shoshone say a heated argument led to the arrest of a 17 year old student. The Shoshone Police Department, assisted by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, was called to the Shoshone School Complex Wednesday around 10:15 a.m.

They were told that a threat had been made by a student. In a news release issued by the Police Department they said a 17 year old male student engaged other pupils at the school in a heated argument during class. The disagreement escalated to the point where the student threatened violence.

Based on the nature of the threat, police said the student was taken into custody without incident and charged with Assault and Threatening Violence on School Grounds. Both are misdemeanor charges. The student was taken to the Snake River Juvenile Detention Center.

Police say that an investigation has revealed that this was an isolated incident and only one individual was responsible for making the threats. No weapons were involved in this incident and no one was injured.
