FAIRFIELD, Idaho (Press Release)- Effective March 16, 2016 the snowmobile closure on the 1965 acre snowcat skiing area above Soldier Mountain Ski Area will be lifted.

According to Mike Dettori, Fairfield District Ranger, guided snowcat skiing is finished for this season. For the remainder of the winter snowmobilers will have access to the peaks located above Soldier Mountain Ski Area.

Snowmobilers are allowed to park in the north end of the ski area parking lot and travel up the South Fork of Soldier Creek to the snowcat skiing area. Snowmobilers are reminded that ski runs within Soldier Mountain Ski Area remain closed to motorized use. For more information contact the Fairfield Ranger District office at 208-764-3202.
