You would think that the "Shinra" company wouldn't be so pro-Cloud as Square Enix has unveiled its new cloud gaming services.

Square Enix has launched its official website for Shinra Technologies, Inc. Shinra is going to offer Square's unique brand of cloud gaming. Square Enix is going to have Shinra work with other developers to help offer gaming with the power of a "virtual supercomputer." Each of its games will be streamed as HD video, so no exact hardware will be necessary to play its games. Could this be the same technology it was going to use for its Dive In mobile gaming?

“Ubisoft has long believed that the cloud will play an important part in gaming’s future,” said Yves Guillemot, CEO and co-founder of Ubisoft. “We are intrigued by the direction Shinra Technologies, Inc. is taking and look forward to seeing what their architecture and technologies can deliver.”

Square has announced that beta testing for Shinra will begin in both Japan and the United States in early 2015.

It's not any kind of Cloud service could save Aeris anyway.
