BOISE, Idaho (AP) — St. Luke's Health System wants to build a $96 million hospital in Nampa. The Idaho Statesman reports that St. Luke's plans to go before city officials on April 14 to request permission to expand on its 33-acre site in Nampa. Hospital spokesman Dave Ensunsa says the hospital is needed because of increasing demand in Nampa.

He says more than 23 percent of Canyon County residents who need hospitalization come to St. Luke's in Meridian and Boise.
