The Force is strong with these backstage rumors about Star Wars Battlefront, such as how its story mode campaign will span the entire franchise, including Episode VII.

MakingStarWars has posted some rather detailed rumors about Star Wars Battlefront. These rumors provide a Death Star-sized amount of content about the anticipated shooter. As always, rumors should be taken with a grain of salt. Nevertheless, these details sound convincing and quite awesome. The first big rumor should be the most obvious: Star Wars Battlefront's story mode campaign will span the entire Star Wars series. Expect story mode segments where you go back and forth between the good guys (Republic and Rebel Alliance) and the bad guys (Separatists and the Empire). A few battles from 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' will be featured. You'll also be able to participate in the aerial dog fight that took place above Coruscant from the opening scenes of Episode III.

Multiplayer matches are expected to consist of 64 players, with 32 on each side. There will be some sequences taking place between 'Return of the Jedi' and 'The Force Awakens', but DICE was limited in what they could do because “Lucasfilm has a lot of plans for that era,” according to the insider providing the leaked details. There will be a hero system in place, but you'll have to earn access to the hero characters through your accolades on the battlefield with the standard characters.

A big rumor mentioned is that Battlefront is expected to launch on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One roughly a month before 'The Force Awakens' theatrical debut (Dec. 18). The final section of its story mode is likely to help build the backstory of Episode VII, but it won't be too revealing when it comes to the Awakens' premise. Apparently, the Republic and Empire are still terms being used for the parts around Episode VII's sequences. Given there were Stormtroopers, Rebel Alliance uniforms, TIE Fighters and X-Wings in the trailer, we're not surprised.
