We have good news and bad news for all of you thinking of asking Stevie Nicks out on a date. The good news? She's single. The bad news? She's finished with love.

The Fleetwood Mac star, currently putting a renewed focus on her solo career since releasing her '24 Karat Gold' LP between legs of the band's latest bestselling tour, sat with Rolling Stone for a discussion of matters both musical and personal -- and regarding the latter, she says she's narrowed the field of romantic prospects "down to nobody."

Dismissing the idea of dating anyone older -- or her own age -- she argued, "What if I fall in love with somebody and they die? They wanna go out with somebody that's 25. That has been going on since the Bible, and I haven't even read the Bible, but I know that. So what am I gonna do, compete with that? I'm not a competitor. So I don't even wanna be in that situation."

That leaves younger men, a dating pool Nicks dipped her toe in during the '90s, but came away frustrated for a handful of reasons. Of her relationship with a younger man who happened to be a waiter, she recalled responding to his invitation to a show by saying, "Are you insane? No. I'm not going. I'm famous! I'm Stevie Nicks! Everybody's gonna spend the whole time taking pictures of us. And I can't keep on making excuses about why you can't go anywhere I can go ... Can I take you to the Grammys? No. Can I go to the market with you? No. Can we go to a movie together in downtown Santa Monica? No. All we can do is stay in.'"

All of which means that Nicks will forever be linked in people's minds with her ex-boyfriend and longtime musical partner Lindsey Buckingham -- and although those romantic embers died out a long time ago, the duo still have more than enough chemistry where it counts. "Relations with Lindsey are exactly as they have been since we broke up," said Nicks. "He and I will always be antagonizing to each other, and we will always do things that will irritate each other, and we really know how to push each other's buttons."
