JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) – An early morning accident near Interstate 84 near Jerome left a couple hundred customers without power for several hours.

Early Friday morning, Jerome County Sheriff’s Office responded to an accident where a car hit a power line near 100 West 66 South near Jerome.

The crash caused the power line to fall and block both lanes of interstate traffic. About 266 Idaho Power customers were left without power for about four hours and the freeway was shut down for an hour.

Gary Rogers, 47, of Jerome, was driving the vehicle and Lance Lozier, 53 of Twin Falls, who were transported by ground ambulance to St Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center.

Rogers was listed in stable condition. No information was available on Lozier's condition.

Deputies believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
