The city of Twin Falls on Tuesday started the seasonal shutdown of its pressurized irrigation stations. Draining and turning off all 22 pressurized stations is expected to take up to two weeks.

Pressurized irrigation is typically activated in late-April or early May after the canal system is charged for the season, according to the city. Come fall, the pump stations are turned off, drained and winterized in October when the canal system is being drained for the winter.

Homeowners should shut off and clear water from their sprinkler systems. Visit the city’s website to see what subdivisions have active or inactive pressurized irrigation, as well as to view anticipated turnoff dates.
