Telltale Games is preparing to take us from the zombie apocalypse of Georgia in The Walking Dead to the duty and blood-filled lands of Westeros in Game of Thrones.

Telltale has tweeted a cryptic, teaser image for Game of Thrones. Based on the George R.R. Martin quote featured in the picture, we have a feeling this series will be more in line with the lore of the original book series than the hit HBO series.

A Song of Ice and Fire is the ongoing book series that HBO's 'Game of Thrones' is based on, and it makes sense that Telltale Games would seek to focus on the source material rather than the hit TV series that the masses recognize -- the studio would much rather stay true to the lore than trying to do a cheap cash-in on the TV show. Telltale did the same by focusing on the comic book version of The Walking Dead as opposed to following its AMC TV series.

The George R.R. Martin quote reads as follows:

"...A wood of stubborn sentinel trees armored in grey-green needles, of mighty oaks, of IRONWOODS as old as the realm itself."

These are lines from A Dance with Dragons, the latest book of Martin's fabled series, which was released in 2011. Telltales previously hinted that the game would focus on House Forrester, which is from the Wolfswood in the North and sworn to House Glover of Deepwood Motte. The quote's mentioning of old, "sentinel" trees heavily suggests that this game will take place in the northern countryside of Westeros, somewhere likely close to the Wall.

While no launch window has been set, stay tuned as we'll provide up-to-date coverage on Game of Thrones once more information is available.
