A winter storm will move into the Magic Valley and Southern Twin Falls County Monday (Jan. 12) and could drop up to three inches of snow.

UPDATE (Jan. 12, 2015 @ 14:30): The Winter Weather Advisory for snow in the Western Magic Valley and Southern Twin Falls County has been extended through 5 am on Tuesday (Jan. 13).

The National Weather Service in Boise has issued a Winter Weather Advisory in effect through 5 am on Tuesday (Jan. 13).

  • Snow: 2 to 4 inches of snow have already fallen. We expect 2 to 4 additional inches of snow tonight, resulting in storm total amounts of 4 to 8 inches by 5 am Tuesday morning.
  • Snow Levels: Near the valley floor.
  • Timing: Snow will pick back up again this evening and snow overnight, tapering off before sunrise.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will primarily cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities. Please slow down, give yourself extra travel time, and use caution while driving
