I've been to a LOT of job fairs and tomorrow (Wednesday, April 24, 2013) is the College of Southern Idaho's Career and College Expo in Twin Falls.  If you need a job or are looking for a change, you should attend.

I'm here to help you stand out in a positive way.  Here are three simple things to remember before you attend the College of Southern Idaho Career and College Expo in Twin Falls.

Research

Yes, you have to do some homework here.  If you scope out a specific company you would like to work for, research them.

You know how I got this job?  I stalked Brad Weiser and told him I loved "Monty Python," which I do, but that's beside the point.  I researched him and I brought it up during our interview.  He remembered that and I got the gig.

The point is, find your target, research them, then be ready to pounce.

Resume

Next, is the resume.  If you did your research properly, then you can create an industry-specific resume.  Make them remember you.

Instead of the same generic resume after generic resume, wake them up and give them something special.

Look Good

Hey, I work in radio NOT television, however, I always get all pretty like for every single interview and yes, a job fair is an interview.  I would say that this is a given, but I've seen people wearing jeans with holes in them to job fairs.

Look the part of a professional and job seekers will treat you as a professional.

From there, ask lots of great questions.  Seriously, job seekers remember great inquisitive questions.  Good luck and be sure to swing by and see me at the Career and College Expo.
