BLACKFOOT, Idaho (AP) — A 2-year-old boy who went missing from his family's Bingham County home on Friday night has been found dead in the Snake River.

The Idaho State Journal reports that searchers found the boy's body at about 10:30 a.m. Saturday. He was found about a half-mile away from the family home west of Blackfoot. Bingham County Sheriff Craig Rowland says Ernest Meyers Garcia Jr. apparently drowned in the river.

Rowland says the boy wandered away from his family's home around 5 p.m. Friday. About 70 turned out for the search. The search effort included three boats, two canines in the river and one on land, and aircraft, including a drone.
