BOISE (KTVB) -- The man charged for the hit-and-run crash that killed a Garden City cyclist is set to stand trial in January.

Thirty-two-year-old Gavin Haley pleaded guilty in June to leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, and was scheduled to be sentenced Friday morning. According to court records, he instead changed his plea to not guilty.

Haley turned himself in to police last September, the day after the crash that killed 53-year-old Victor Haskell. Boise Police say Haley had been drinking before his SUV clipped Haskell, who was riding his bike near 30th and State streets at the time.

Haley's trial is now scheduled for Jan. 27, 2015.
