The City of Twin Falls has issued a press release asking pedestrians to avoid using Canyon Springs Road Grade until further notice.

(tfid.org) Significant moisture along the canyon wall, as well as the frequent freezing and thawing cycles, are causing dangerous rockfall onto the roadway.

During the last four weeks, city street crews have responded to — and cleared — at least four instances of rockfall on the Canyon Springs Grade. Falling rock can cause significant injury to pedestrians on the roadway.

The Canyon Springs Grade will remain open to vehicle traffic. Signs will be posted at the top of the grade to inform pedestrians about falling rock and to encourage them to avoid the roadway at the grade.

The city will provide more information — including updates on when the grade is safe for pedestrians — via its website at www.tfid.org, social media pages, local media partners, and the city’s notification system. The public’s patience and cooperation is greatly appreciated.
