TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)- Police say Twin Falls citizens are being targeted by a water bill scam. According to Twin Falls Police people have gotten calls from someone claiming to be a city employee saying a water utility bill is overdue. The caller then says the citizen can pay over the phone and asks for payment information.

Police say the City only contacts residents regarding delinquent water accounts through the mail. If you receive a phone call of this nature, Police are asking that you report the incident as soon as possible and remind citizens they should never offer any financial information over the phone.

Reports can be made to Utility Billing at 735-7250 or the Police Department at 735-4357.
