TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)- Two men were able to escape a semi-truck before it caught fire near Rupert Monday morning. According to Idaho State Police Charles Howe, 47, of North Carolina was headed west in a semi when he fell asleep and hit a guardrail at milepost 214 just before 9am. The impact caused the truck to catch fire. Howe, and his passenger Ricky Jarrell, 48, also from North Carolina were able to get out of the truck.

Both were taken to Minidoka Memorial Hospital in Rupert. Both lanes heading west were shut down for about six hours. Crews were able to open one lane. The other remains closed until crews can make repairs.
