JEROME, Idaho (KLIX)- Two teens were killed Monday night in Jerome County after the driver didn't stop at a stop sign. According to Idaho State Police Baily Helsley, 16, of Nampa, and Deven Schulz, 16, of Jerome, died from their injuries when their car was hit by another at the intersection of 200 N and 300 W. Police say Helsley was driving south on 300 W in a Honda Civic, didn't yield at a stop sign and was hit on the driver side by a Hyundai Elantra going west on 200 N.

The Hyundai was being driven by Casey Clapp, 18, of Wendell. Schulz and Helsely had been wearing their seat belts but were both thrown from the car. The driver and passengers of the Hyundai, Emily Lozano, 18, of Jerome and Salvador Bielmas, 16, of Wendell, were taken to the hospital. Bielmas was flown by air ambulance. Only Lozano was wearing a seat belt.

The intersection was closed down for about four and a half hours. The crash is still under investigation. This is a second crash this week where ISP has reported a driver failed to stop at a stop sign. Last week a Filer woman was killed in a crash in Twin Falls County after another driver did not stop at a stop sign.
