UPDATE, 5 p.m.: According to a news release by the Idaho State Police: "Idaho State Police and other Idaho law enforcement have received various inquiries about possible sightings of a vehicle involved in an AMBER Alert for the abduction of 9-year-old Carlie Trent in Tennessee. ISP has been in contact with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) about issuing the AMBER Alert in Idaho.

"We have been advised that TBI has received calls about possible sightings from 11 different states and that at this point in time TBI does not believe that there is enough evidence to issue the AMBER Alert for Carlie in Idaho. TBI and ISP will stay in contact and ISP will issue the alert immediately if requested by TBI to do so.

"In the meantime Idaho law enforcement has the AMBER Alert information on this case and will be vigilant in keeping a look out for the Carlie, the suspect Gary Simpson and/or the van they are believed to be traveling in. If a member of the public spots Carlie, Simpson or the van please call  9-1-1 immediately.

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)- An Amber Alert suspect’s vehicle may have been spotted in Idaho according to law enforcement in the state. KIVI-TV is reporting that multiple law enforcement agencies have received tips that the van identified in an Amber Alert out of Tennessee has been seen in Mountain Home and Idaho Falls.

According to information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children an alert was issued for 9 year old Calie Marie Trent. The alert says that the suspect, Gary Simpson, took Trent from her school Monday under false pretenses.

Carlie is 4'8" tall, weighs 75lbs with blonde hair and blue eyes. She was seen wearing a black and grey tank top and blue jeans.

Simpson is a 57 year-old white male, 5'10" tall, weighing 157lbs. He is balding and has brown hair and eyes. He was last seen wearing a brown cap, a dark colored shirt and jeans. The vehicle is described as a 2002 Dodge Conversion Van with Tennessee plates 173GPS. The van has a dark stripe down the middle with gold running boards. It also has paint chipping on the hood.
