Battlefield Hardline’s development team has been monitoring gameplay and listening to player feedback from their closed Beta test in order to fine-tune the game before its October release. Visceral Games’ lead multiplayer designer, Thad Sasser, has posted a list of fixes and tweaks on the Battlefield Blog that were made based on the Battlefield Hardline Beta's latest findings.

Ten specific issues are being addressed by the developer, which has led to numerous tweaks being made to Battlefield Hardline's weapons, vehicles and player classes, as well as changes to its menus and various game mechanics. Complaints about players overusing heavy explosive weapons have resulted in Visceral reducing the frequency of their explosions. The Mechanic class is being beefed up to be more effective against soft targets and is getting a new name. Sasser urges fans to post their suggestions for the new class name in the comments section of the Battlefield Blog.

The HUD and customization menu will receive an overhaul, with a focus on clarity and convenience. Interactive objects like doors, radios, ammo lockers and other items will be added to the game world, providing a deeper and more immersive experience. Tweaks have been made to the Heist and Blood Money modes that will make rounds longer, due to significant feedback about matches ending quickly. Vehicles proved too easy to destroy with gunfire, so Visceral has increased the health on cars and vans.

Veteran Battlefield players know just how important audio cues are to success, and the development team is working on improving those sounds to help players detect unseen enemies. Issues with ammo boxes and reviving teammates through medkits have been addressed, as it is now much easier for medics to revive other players. Finally, the Interrogation mechanic has been modified. Interrogations will now only show nearby enemies, but marking them as if they had been spotted by a teammate.

Visceral is still working on the Battlefield Hardline, and plans more tweaks and re-balances in the future. The developer has also promised “a ton of new multiplayer details” in the coming days.

Battlefield Hardline is scheduled for an October 21 release for PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.
