Water in Twin Falls Canals
Water is on it's way for Southern Idaho farmers. The Twin Falls Canal Company opened the gates at Murtaugh Lake yesterday. The water will help 200,000 acres of farm land grow.
The important thing for residences and families who live near canals is this is a perfect time to remind children of the dangers involved with canals. Sadly, every year children pass away from accidents related to irrigation canals. Please make sure you children are educated about the dangers of canals.
It will take about 2 weeks to fill and charge the system before farmers are able to utilize the water but some canals will fill more quickly than others so please be aware that the water is coming.
