We are blessed in Idaho to have many awesome destinations for tourists. However, if I'm being honest, I would have to admit that some of our locations might be a little overrated for one reason or another. I want to know which one you think would be most likely to disappoint.

Here are my nominees. Feel free to add your own to our poll. These are just ideas and suggestions based on my thoughts. As I've proven in the past, my thoughts are not to be trusted.

1. Craters of the Moon

There is no doubt that Craters of the Moon is an interesting destination - for about 15 minutes. But, once you've looked at some volcanic rock, how interesting is another going to be 45 minutes later?

2. Shoshone Falls

Shoshone Falls is one of the most beautiful sights you can see in the American West - when there's water going over it. Do you remember the first time you went? Was it in late summer or fall after the water has been diverted for irrigation? That's a recipe for disappointment for many and is the reason our beloved Shoshone gets the nomination.

3. Boise

No, I'm not trying to be funny with this one. Boise does end up on so many "Best Places To Live" lists. So, how does it get the nod as potentially being overrated? The fact that Boise DOES end up on these lists is why I think it's possible for people to be disappointed when they get there. Heck, considering the hype, I would be surprised if someone that's never been there would NOT be disappointed.

4. Napoleon Dynamite's High School

Google Maps Street View

In case you've been living under a rock since 2004, Preston High School in Preston, Idaho was the backdrop for one of Idaho's most famous movies, Napoleon Dynamite. What will you see when you go there? You can take your pic by the tetherball pole that was in the movie. Last I heard, there was no ball even attached to the tetherball pole. I suppose you could pretend that Uncle Rico is trying to throw a football over the nearby mountain range.

I could go on, but you get the idea. PLEASE add your own to this list. I love all the places to see in Idaho, but am interested in what areas you think get too much credit.
