It's time to celebrate America! With less than two weeks until we celebrate our independence, there are loads of plans you can make now to ensure a fun and safe 4th of July. You can plan your BBQ, who you are going to spend the day with, where you'll be celebrating, and starting at midnight on the 23rd, you'll be able to purchase your fireworks. We've seen the local stands set up and empty for a few days now so it is nice to know that the day is close!

According to local seller John Powlus, who runs a stand in between Swensens and Jiffy Lube on Addison and Washington, fireworks stands can start selling at midnight on June 23rd through the 5th of July.

Firework stands will be allowed to sell what are called ‘safe and sane‘ fireworks (meaning legal ones). Fireworks that shoot off the ground – bottle rockets and roman candles – are still prohibited and could come with a fine of $100.
