Whitesnake's self-titled seventh studio album is getting the deluxe reissue treatment to commemorate its 30th anniversary.

The album, which provided the veteran hard rock act with its long-awaited U.S. breakthrough courtesy of crossover hits "Here I Go Again" and "Is This Love," is scheduled to return to stores Oct. 6 in a variety of repackaged editions – including a super deluxe version that expands the original packaging to include four CDs and a DVD.

That edition, which is selling for a little under $50 and is available to pre-order now, offers a remastered original track listing as well as previously unreleased recordings from Whitesnake's studio and concert archives, music videos from the era, live footage, and a new 30-minute documentary featuring interview segments with frontman David Coverdale, as well as a 60-page hardcover book "filled with rare and unseen photos from the era, an extended essay based on new interviews with Coverdale, plus a booklet of the album's lyrics, handwritten by Coverdale."

The Whitesnake reissue will also be available as a double-disc "deluxe edition" CD or vinyl set as well as a single-disc straight remaster, and all editions are being made available for digital purchase or streaming. This release marks the first fruits of Coverdale's recent deal with Rhino, which places Whitesnake's catalog within the Warner Bros. imprint.

"It gives me great joy to finally have so much of my Whitesnake catalog all under the same roof with the Warner family and I'm thrilled to be now working with this tremendous team on a worldwide basis," Coverdale enthused via a news release. "I have great memories of being with Warner back in my days with Deep Purple then when I was with Geffen, when they were distributed by Warner, so it feels like coming home to now have Whitesnake there. This elaborate reissue is the perfect project to kick off the new relationship."

The Whitesnake album's 30th anniversary has been on his mind for some time: Coverdale earlier suggested he'd celebrate it by announcing his retirement. No mention was made of that decision in Coverdale's Rhino press release, in which the label promised "great releases" planned out of the Whitesnake archives in "the coming years."
