The Iron Tide is hitting Azeroth next week in the form of Patch 6.0.2, setting the tone of the Iron Horde incursion ready to hit Azeroth in World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor.

Blizzard has announced that Patch 6.0.2 goes live on Oct. 14, bringing about the Iron Tide content to help usher in World of Warcraft's next expansion, Warlords of Draenor. This patch will debut new skills, gameplay changes, additional abilities and will start the new invasion of the Iron Horde.

The Dark Portal in the Blasted Lands will turn red. The portal will have hundreds of brown orcs, uncorrupted by the blood of Mannoroth but united under the axe of Grommash Hellscream, spilling out of it to try and take Azeroth. The Alliance and Horde bases in the Blasted Lands, Nethergarde and Okril'lon, will have fallen by the time your character arrives. King Varian Wrynn and Warchief Vol'jin will need to try and take back what was lost and cap this invasion at the source.

Some of the Iron Horde has reached Blackrock Mountain and set up a base in Upper Blackrock Spire. The old Upper Blackrock Spire dungeon is now redone as a level 90 dungeon so you can gear yourself out before the counteroffensive on the Iron Horde begins.

World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor launches on Nov. 13, 2014.

Don't forget, Warcrack is a drug, like space weed.
