So, this is happening.  The guy who fought for anti-gay legislation and was subsequently accused of a gay sex scandal (including being arrested during the notorious 2007 men's bathroom stall incident)... he just got hired.

Then Former U.S. Senator Larry Craig illegally used campaign funds to cover his legal funds for the sex sting operation.

His new job?  Financial chair of the Idaho GOP executive committee.

Here's the official story from KTVB:

BOISE (KTVB) -- The Idaho Republican Party has hired former U.S. Sen. Larry Craig as its financial chair of its executive committee.

The party confirmed the hire Wednesday.

Craig was arrested in a 2007 airport bathroom sex sting. He was accused of soliciting sex in a men's bathroom at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport by an undercover officer. According to the officer, Craig tapped his foot under the stall and signaled that he wanted sex.

He retired in 2009, where he then faced legal battles with the Federal Elections Commission over his use of campaign funds. In September, a federal judge ordered him to pay nearly $242,000 to the U.S. Treasury for improperly using campaign funds to cover legal expenses involving his sex sting.
