BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Though there will be more options for health insurance available on Your Idaho Health's marketplace this year, premiums will be higher than in 2016.

The Idaho Statesman reports that premiums will be about 24 percent higher on average in 2017 than they were in 2016. The price each person pays depends on factors such as age, geographic location and desired levels of insurance coverage, among other factors. PacificSource Health Plans will raise premiums the least, by 15 percent.

SelectHealth and Mountain Health CO-OP will raise premiums the most — with 29 percent. Idaho Department of Insurance Director Dean Cameron says Idaho has seen a great increase in plan options, with five carriers offering a total of 186 medical across the state and at least four carriers in each county.
