50 Yrs Ago Ted Bundy Kills Only Idaho Victim; Cops Still Seek ID
It's been reported that serial killer Ted Bundy may have murdered dozens of people in a span of a decade until his arrest in 1978. The majority of his victims were female drifters in the Pacific Northwest, including one young girl he picked up just outside of Boise, Idaho.
Ted Bundy is regarded as one of the most sadistic rapists and murderers in American history. His brutal rampage cost more than 30 known lives from coast to coast in the 1970s, and some believe he may have been responsible for three times that amount of deaths, according to biography.com.
The police reports surrounding this case did include Bundy saying he believed the runaway teen was trying to get from Boise to Montana.
One of the victims Bundy reportedly confessed to murdering was a young girl he picked up hitchhiking along I-84 in southern Idaho, according to the Ada County Sheriff's Office website. Her age and name were never given to investigators during the 1989 interview where Bundy admitted to the crime, but Bundy did describe her as approximately 17 years old and 5'6" while speaking with detectives. The Ada County Sheriff's Office is still seeking information that could lead to the teen's recovery and identification.
